Our house is your house. Select theatre auditoriums are available to rent for parties and meetings. We can show any movie currently playing in the theatre, or you can request a special movie for an additional cost.

Auditorium Rentals

Our auditoriums are available for business groups at select times during the day or evening. Prices vary depending on the date, time and size of auditorium needed.

Groups and Field Trips

Host your next school, daycare or organization’s next outing at the movies! We have a variety of houses available to fit your needs. Pricing depends on the date, time and size of auditorium needed. Movie Meals (small popcorn, drink and snack size candy) can also be included for an additional fee.

Looking to fill a little more time in the day? Add a round or two of mini golf! All theatre rentals can be packaged to include mini golf at Area 51’s The Fringe located conveniently outside the entrance of Area 51 and Aurora Cineplex.

FAQ

I am interested in renting an auditorium, what is the process?

1. Email the Special Events Coordinator at Events@auroracinplex.com.
2. A Special Event Coordinator will e-mail you a proposal within 3 business days.
3. Request changes to proposal or accept proposal by signing the proposal and returning it to the Special Events Coordinator.
4. A signed proposal confirms you on the Event Calendar up until one week prior to your event.
5. Payment is due one week prior to your event and is required to guarantee your event.

How is the price of my rental determined?

Theatre rental pricing is determined by film selected (if any), length of time the film has been in theatres, day, time and number of guests. Pricing guidelines are listed on our website for informational purposes only and change/alter by event based on theatre location, film, day, time and number of guests. Pricing quoted on proposals is exclusive to the event that the proposal was prepared.

How do I pay for my theatre rental?

Payment for theatre rentals is due one week prior to the event. Payment is made through the home office, not at the theatre. Corporate checks, money orders and credit cards are accepted forms of payment. At this time we are not equipped to accept PO’s or cash. There is no down payment required for theatre rentals; a signed proposal reserves your space on our event calendar up until one week prior to the event, when payment is due.

Can I see the auditorium and test the equipment prior to my event?

Absolutely! Your Special Event Coordinator would be happy to meet you onsite to conduct a site walk and go over the logistics of your event.

How much does the average event cost?

The pricing below is provided as a general guideline only, and is subject to change based upon film, day, time, location and number of guests. There are two main options when renting a private theatre: seeing a currently showing film or utilizing the auditorium for something else, such as a meeting, party or watching a DVD.

• Option one: Watch a currently showing film
• Option two: Host a meeting, party, or watch a movie on DVD (not seeing a currently showing film)

Option One Pricing:

Private auditorium fee + a movie ticket for each guest (ticket minimum 75% of auditoriums capacity) *This pricing is valid for most films that have been out for more than ten days. Some movies may be restricted for longer. In the first 7-10 days of a movie's release, most film companies will require purchasing all seats at full adult ticket price in the auditorium that the film is currently showing in.

Hourly rate. Pleae note there is a two hour minimum.

If your event requires projection onto the screen (excluding a currently showing film,) we require a onetime $200 projection fee. This includes use of a digital projector, wireless microphone, DVD or Blue Ray player and necessary connections. For PowerPoint presentations, you must furnish your own laptop computer. If you only need a microphone, the fee is $25.00.

Other Important Information:

• All rentals are time padded with our typical thirty minute intermission used for vacating the auditorium, clean-up and seating. If you require more set-up or break down time, that time will need be included in your rental.
• There is no outside food or drink allowed into Aurora Cineplex; however, we will assist in contracting catering and traditional movie fare.
• Event times are based on availability; we are on a first contract signed, first served basis. Movie selections are based on availability and are subject to approval by the film companies.
• Typically film companies do not let us have private showings of a release in its first week, however; they do allow us to sell out a show at full price.
• All concession, drink or food coupons must be redeemed during your event. There will be no refunds on unused coupons, and they will not be redeemable at a later date.
